Savannah Outen “I’ll Never Stop My YouTube!”
Teen singer Savannah Outen has been making herself known in the music world lately, with a new single Fighting for My life quickly climbing the charts over at Radio Disney, her successful YouTube page, and now she’ll be singing one of the tracks on the upcoming Disney Mania 7 CD! We had the amazing opportunity to chat with Savannah, and ask her all about her exciting success.
Disney Mania is a collection of Disney songs sung by popular artist. Superstars like Miley Cyrus, and Ashley Tisdale have been on past Disney Mania CD’s, and now Savannah is super psyched to be included in the latest one! “It’s very cool, just to be a part of it. I have been buying all the Disney Mania albums ever since I was a little girl so it’s really exciting to be a part of the seventh one. I’m so honored to have been asked to be a part of it.” Savannah says. “I’m super excited for the song to come out and for people to hear it. It’s gonna be a good collection of different people.” On the CD, Savannah does her own version of the song Little Wonders from Meet the Robinsons.
Disney Mania isn’t the only thing Savannah’s been excited about lately, her newest single Fighting for My Life has been a huge success with her fans, and has been climbing it’s way up the charts at Radio Disney! “I’m super happy, it’s number 16 on the Top 30 Countdown on Radio Disney and hopefully it’ll keep moving up!” she says “Hopefully the fans keep voting for it, it’s doing well, it’s gotten a good turn out and fans like the song so that’s good.”
Savannah is also known for her Youtube Channel, where she often covers songs requested by fans. Her latest one was Gravity by Sara Bareilles. With so much exciting opportunities coming up, Savannah has been super busy! So will she keep up her youtube-ing? “Yes! Definatly. People always ask me ‘Are you gonna stop doing the videos?’, I would never stop because the Youtube fans are the reason I’m living my dream today, so I will never stop posting covers.”
This past Sunday (February 28), Savannah attended the Kids Helping Kids Project Haiti event where she joined other stars like Alyson Stoner and Nathan Kress. “It was a lot of fun. It was so great to be a part of and it was for such a great cause. To see all of my friends there that was cool and I performed, I ended the show it was really cool.” Savannah shared. “I sang a couple songs, and it was a great night! It was very crowded, it was a good turn out, the carpet was kinda hectic, there were a lot of people there so that was good.” With so many in need because of the recent earthquakes, Savannah encourages fans to donate in any way they can. “Just keep donating! I think that all of us need to realize that Haiti is gonna need our help next month, they’re gonna need our help five months from now so just keep donating.”
“For myself, I bought the [Hope for Haiti] album on iTunes with Justin Timberlake, and Beyoncé. All of the proceeds went to Haiti, and text messaging [the Red Cross] every once in a while so that’s what I’ve been doing. And then the event last night [Kids Helping Kids] was such a great way to help out as well.”
What’s next for Savannah? “This weekend I’m going up to Disney World for a Family reunion, so that’ll be fun. I’ll just get to relax with my family in Disney world and ride some rides, that’ll be really fun. I don’t know what else I have planned, I think it’s just more spur of the moment like ‘Hey, we’re going to California this week so we can do this.’ and ‘We’re going to Nashville so we can do this.’ so i guess we’ll see when it gets closer to it, but i have a show in April in my hometown and I’m excited about that, and a bunch of other stuff coming up, so hopefully the stuff that’s behind the scenes will work out.”
Disney Mania 7 will be released on March 9th! Also, be sure to request Fighting for My Life on Radio Disney so it can move up on the countdown!
